Our herd of 130 Red deer live in fenced paddocks over the farm in large family groups producing their fawns without any intervention from us.
All of the venison in our shop comes from our own animals, each animal is born, lives with its family and dies on the farm, we are rightly proud of our high welfare meat.
We offer deer tours so you can meet these beautiful animals up close.
Adam turned our farm organic over 30 years ago, he is a passionate advocate of farming without using chemicals. It has been proven that animals and crops raised without the use of pesticides, herbicides and antibiotics have greater nutritional value.
Organic farming is not an easy option, but not only does it help us to produce beautiful quality meat, but it also allows us to prioritise the environment.
We are proud of our organic farm and happy to chat to any of our guests who are interested in this subject,
As an organic farm we pride ourselves on the fantastic variety of wild flowers and native trees spread across the farm.
These form a vital part of our eco system, necessary for pollinating insects, providing habitats for small mammals and making our farm an incredibly beautiful place.
Each year we plant more trees and sow more meadows so that the programme of improvement is always moving forward.
In your hut you will find a guide to the farm pointing out flowers and trees to watch out for in each season.
We are blessed to have 6 acres of ancient woodland on Ash Farm, filled with native trees which provide a canopy for the many plants that thrive in this dappled shade.
You can pick bluebells in spring, wild garlic in early summer as well as many varieties of trees.
Our guests are welcome to use the cutting garden during their stay, planted over the last 3 years Ali aims to use mostly perennial plants for their deep roots and the fact that they do not require constant watering.
